PREVENTION helps EVERYONE

Helen and Brent have created NOW Zealand as a platform to raise money and increase awareness for the charity Brainwave Aotearoa as they walk the length of New Zealand, some 3000km on Te Araroa trail. This is a self funded adventure.

Brainwave Aotearoa vision is that all children in Aotearoa are valued and nurtured so they can reach their full potential. They share scientific research on the critical importance of the first 1000 days of life in an easy to understand way for parents, professionals, and anyone who has influence on the lives of children.

Brainwave Aotearoa achieves this by

- providing targeted, culturally responsive programmes that make research based knowledge available to all in a meaningful way and support people to work out how to improve their care of children based on this information

- form partnerships to further disseminate knowledge

- make credible and trusted contribution towards a culture that values good parenting and prevents abuse and neglect

- advocate for children and families where societal change is needed

Funds will be donated to Brainwave Aotearoa. They will create a pack containing a picnic blanket and printed resources about brain development in early years, supporting parents to give their babies the best start in life. We would love to raise enough money for at least 500 packs.
