Promoting theatre for the young.

We are a theatre group based in the Bay of Islands and present plays, musicals and pantomime. We also run an academy for young budding actors, dancers and singers. Our last academy took place after Christmas and was attended by 40 very keen youngsters from the area who worked hard for 5 days honing their knowledge of singing, dancing, use of technical equipment and props.

We had qualified teachers from the area and Auckland who came together to make this happen.

They all loved it and learnt heaps! Because of the success we want to hold other events for them.

The participants will go forward with confidence to develop their acting, dancing and singing careers. We recently held open auditions for our next production, Shrek the Musical which everybody is very excited about. The youngsters who attended the academy were well placed to get parts in the show because of what they learnt.

To continue with this work of developing our youth, we need funding. This will go towards paying for teachers, venues and other costs associated with these events.
