The hugely popular show Puppet Fiction has been invited to Edinburgh and now it needs to get there!
Wellington
Our tabletop marionette show Puppet Fiction, the ultimate homage to Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, has been programmed to perform in the mighty Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as part of the Free Fringe.
Back in 2012, when we first performed the show to a packed out crowd (of 20 people) in the tiny Pit Bar at BATS Theatre for the NZ Fringe, we talked about how amazing it would be to take this show to Edinburgh. Now more than 130 performances to over 2000 people over 3 and a half years later that's becoming a reality!
Out team consists of:
Jon Coddington: puppet master extraordinaire
Anya Tate-Manning: bringing the acting
James Nokise: professional jokester and bloody good at it
Hannah Clarke: the mum staying behind
After performing mostly self-funded and koha shows for the pure love of it in Fringe festivals across NZ and in Perth and Adelaide this is an incredible opportunity for the performers and the show to play to international audiences at the largest arts market in the world!!!
We're sub-letting our homes, hoping our jobs will still be here when we get back and covering all our own costs to have a crack at this dream to perform the show in Edinburgh Fringe, all up it's costing nearly $15,000. We're asking for a little help to make a wee dent in the that number and help fulfil this dream.
Present Company Incl was created by Jon Coddington and Hannah Clarke in 2011 as a co-op based production company that would make all their marvelous dreams realities.
THANK YOU AND SEE YOU SOON 3 September 2015
Thank you so much for the support that enabled us to go to the biggest arts festival in the world and have the best time!
Puppet Fiction was a smash hit in the free fringe, finding it's rightful place as a koha show, as it is in NZ, which allows the performers to earn cash every day and survive in a festival that is extremely difficult to survive in. It would not have been possible for us to get there without the generous support of our givealittle donators and we are extremely grateful.
The puppets have been carefully packed away for their journey home and the actors are having a wee sleep, for now...
