Help get our surfing team to the national competition in Raglan!

Otago

We are from Queen's High School, Dunedin. We are a little school situated near St Clair beach. We have a combined team with neighbouring King's High School, and have qualified to go to the national competition in Raglan. We have never been to the event before and would love this experience to represent our school. The Queens team members that this page will benefit are Shani and Miss Civil, and they are both currently national title holders. It will also benefit the 3 Kings boys who are also fundraising to get to the competition, Elliot Brown, Jack Mcleod and James Murphy.

Shani will be the first ever Queen's student AND girl from the Otago Region to represent our school at a National Surfing competition.

Shani has won:

Finalist South Island Companionships

Winner of Junior South Island Championships

1st place Otago Championships

Finalist Kaikoura Cold Water Classic

1st Under 18 Southland Championships

2nd Kakanui Championships

Tash Civil's involvement (page creator)

I'm involved as the teacher in charge of surfing. I am a passionate surfer and try to get out at least once a day - even in the cold Dunedin winters. Shani and I have been surfing together for awhile, and I have seen her develop her skills greatly over the past few years. I believe this would be a great experience for her and would love to show other surfers our skills.
