Race to Richmond 2

Started 3 years ago

We are raising funds to help get the New Zealand Quidditch team (The Black Brooms) to the 2021 Quidditch World Cup in Richmond, Virginia.

International

This time last year, the New Zealand Quidditch team, Black Brooms launched a challenge to travel the distance from Wellington to Richmond Virginia and raise the equivalent amount in funds in time for the Quidditch World Cup that was to take place in Richmond.

Due to obvious circumstances the World Cup has been delayed to next year.

The current situation has been very difficult for the whole world, not just the quidditch community but as a team we pride ourselves on overcoming this challenge. So we're re-starting our Race to Richmond.

Just like before, we intend to run, bike, row, or swim every centimetre of the 13,989 kilometres between Wellington and Richmond. Whether it be per kilometre or in a lump sum, all donations are welcome as we try and hit $13,989 to help us get the team trained and ready for World Cup glory.

We have decided to call do-over as we want to complete the full challenge and make this a proper restart. As before, for every dollar of donation we receive, a member of the squad will complete a kilometre. Any funds we receive over our intended goal shall be donated to charity.

We are using the fitness app Strava and will be posting weekly updates to our Facebook page and on our website here:

Thank you for your support and in advance for all your kind donations!

Use of funds

All funds raised will be spent on logistical needs to support The Black Brooms making the journey to Virginia (flights, accomodation etc). We will be donating all funds in excess of our needs to charity.
