Otago

Queenstown Ice Skating Club thank Whyte Waters and More FM for sponsoring Rachel and Joel.

About Joel:

I’m the local breakfast Host for Queenstown, Wanaka and Central Otago’s More FM.

In a previous life I was a ballroom dancer and am trying to draw on that experience to help on the Ice. Rachel has been a wonderful (and very patient) teacher thus far!

I’m excited to help out the Local ice skating club and potentially pick up some smooth moves on the ice to show off for the rest of the season

About Rachel:

I live in Wanaka and my hobbies are skating, snowboarding, ice hockey and driving over the crown range in the middle of the night! I skated for a few years as a teenager, then lived in towns with no rink for 15 years, and got back into skating about 3 years ago. The club’s young and teenage skaters are a lovely bunch, so I am doing Stars On Ice to help raise money for our club so that their skating can continue to progress.

About us

Familiar faces have signed up to skate and are working hard to perfect their choreographic routines.

Fundraising from Stars on Ice will give the club a huge opportunity to give all club skaters the time on the ice they need.

Use of funds

All funds go towards purchasing ice time for the Club skaters to practice and develop their skills and follow their passion of figure skating.
