Raising funds for Stephanie and Matthew, as Stephanie goes through treatment for Lupus.
Help to elevate the financial burden off Stephanie and Matthew while she undergoes treatment.

Stephanie has been working at Annie Brydon since 2015 She was a RN then stepped into the role of unit coordinator, which she absolutely shined in this role. Stephanie then stepped into the role of acting clinical service manager in April 2020, when the previous Clinical Service Manager resigned and left. Stephanie has done an amazing job without orientation into this demanding role. Stephanie was looking forward to her fiancé Matthew coming to New Zealand, he was booked and ready to arrive and unfortunately two days prior to his arrival COVID hit and New Zealand went into level 4 lockdown. Stephanie’s greatest wish was to go back to the Philippines and marry her lifetime love. In January 2021 Stephanie went home to the Philippines and did marry her lifetime love, unfortunately this was without complications. Stephanie and Matthew tried to come to New Zealand and after 5 long months of trying to get a visa for Matthew, he was eventually granted a visa.
Stephanie and Matthew were overjoyed to be coming to New Zealand and Stephanie was excited to be able to get back into working and earning a wage. Stephanie came back to Annie Brydon and continued her role as acting CSM knowing she was going to be going back to her original role as a UC when the new CSM starts in July. Stephanie and Matthew were then blessed with the news of being pregnant, but that’s when everything started to turn for the worse. Stephanie started to become sick and after multiple trips to hospital it was discovered she had Lupus (autoimmune disease). Stephanie and Mathew not only where faced with this devastating news, they had to make a decision about treatment, and the potential effects on their pregnancy. Stephanie and Mathew made their decision and treatment has started. Unfortunately due to the treatment Stephanie will be monitored and this means more time off work. There is no annual leave or sick leave available. Unfortunately Matthew is unable to work as he does not have a work visa. This has put yet another burden onto both of them.
Stephanie and Matthew do not have any family support in New Zealand.
Could you please find it in your hearts to give whatever you can to try and elevate the financial burdens that this has had on this young family.

Road to Recovery 9 August 2021
With humble and grateful hearts, Matt and I would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone- family, friends and even strangers who helped us in all kinds of ways- may it be financially, emotionally and spiritually since my diagnosis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus- Lupus Nephritis in Pregnancy. We've been back to Hawera since around 3 weeks ago and we have focused on my recovery with good results so far. We are praying that this continues so that we may also continue to have a safe and healthy pregnancy. The funds that we will receive will be of great help while we await the approval of Matt's working visa and our possible relocation close to Auckland City Hospital as per advise of our specialist depending on the scan and specialist review in two weeks and the weeks to come. Again, these words of thanks are not enough to express how grateful we are for your generous hearts. May the Lord bless you all a hundredfold.
