17 youth and young adults from North Canterbury are travelling to the village of Nasomo in Fiji in July.
Canterbury
We're a group of 17 in our teens and early 20s, plus a handful of awesome adult leaders, heading over to a small Fijian village called Nasomo.
We'll live in local homes and join in on every part of village life over two weeks in July.
Why? First of all, this is a service trip, we want to be able to bless those we stay with by helping out with community projects and spending time in local schools and churches. We'll be taking sports gear and other equipment with us to distribute there.
But most importantly, we reckon we have a lot to learn from the Fijian locals in this small inland village. Away from the distractions of our daily lives in New Zealand, we hope to return with a different perspective on community living, generosity and happiness found in simpler things.
A similar group from our church first travelled to Nasomo in 2017, and we know this was a life transforming experience for them - so much so, several are coming back to re-connect with their Nasomo family this time!
If there is a particular young person that you know who is going on the trip, could you please write their name in the comment section so that we can distribute funds correctly.
