Ratana Temepara Project
Priority is to waterproof our Temepara through remedial roof work and arched window repairs.

Our Ratana Temepara is in desperate need of repairs. Our funding has always been through donations from our church members. This is a huge project and the scope for this stage includes the following:
setting up scaffolding and working platforms to re-seat 50 roof tiles including replacement of cracked tiles to the roof with new tiles to match the existing.
supply and installation of new treated overflashing.
repairing the crack to the south and angled wall.
carefully removing the arched leadlight windows to front of the temple above balcony, refurbishing the windows and reinstall windows with new flashings.
removing all broken tiles inside ceiling space.
installing new roofing tile clips to existing tiles which have loose and broken fixings.
removing water stained and decayed angled support plates fixed to the southern concrete wall and replace with new treated timber to match.
removing and replacing water affected lined timber.
removing and replacing water affected ceiling joists between edge of curved ceiling and flat ceiling to the southern end of the temple.
Replace with new matching treated timber. treating all water affected ceiling space timber with glyco-borate treatment.
providing construction of scaffolding within the internal ceiling space to carry out the work.

About us
The Ratana Communal Board of Trustees helps with the maintenance of our church buildings. Funds come through donations from members of the church and we are heavily reliant on this support. All work is done voluntarily.
Use of funds
All funds raised will be used to cover the costs outlined in the detailed description.
