A fundraiser to help with the costs of Rebel's eye medications for when he finds his new forever home
Nelson / Tasman
'Rebel', is a retired racing greyhound. He finished his racing career in 2016 and has been living as a pet ever since, but has recently found himself in a position where he is looking for a new home. The Stoke Vet Clinic in Nelson is assisting in finding a forever home for him.
Rebel has just turned 7 years old. He is a very laid back boy, he is affectionate, loving, gentle and he is EXTREMELY lazy! Rebel enjoys the company of humans and dogs of all sizes.
Rebel has an eye condition called 'dry eye', which means he doesn't produce any tears, so without lubrication, his eyes feel dry and scratchy. He requires daily eye drops to lubricate his eyes to manage this condition, and a steroid drop to reduce inflammation. This is a lifelong treatment for Rebel. His eye treatments and ongoing care is costly, so we want to fundraise to give his future new owner some extra support with his costs.
Please note - all Rebel's costs to date have been covered by the Stoke Vet Clinic, and we will not be using any money fundraised to cover what we have already spent on him :)
Lisa Jamieson, who is one of the key instigators in finding Rebel a new home will pass on the pledged funds to provide Rebels ongoing medical care, through Stoke Veterinary Hospital.
Rebel is an amazing greyhound who is searching for his forever home in Nelson, NZ. Lisa and her colleagues at the vets in Stoke have been helping him find his new home.
Rebel's ongoing eye medications, which is a lifelong treatment.
As Rebel's care is ongoing, we expect any money raised to always be of use to his new owner to contribute towards his medications.
