Hi! My name is Annie Ford, and I’m a mountain biker and adventure activist living in Queenstown, New Zealand.

I am fundraising for the regeneration of native forest on Coronet Peak foothills by attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the most descent on a mountain bike in 24 hours.

The current downhill Guinness World Record is 41,900 meters. I currently hold this record, after breaking it in 2022. I will be aiming to descend 50,000 meters in 24 hours, to align with the fundraising goal of $50,000. This record will be held on the Coronet Peak Downhill Track.

Te Tapu o Tāne, a local Rūnanga owned charitable organisation, is currently leading the largest indigenous reforestation project in the Upper Lakes - Project Tohu - (located on the eastern face of Coronet Peak). I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand Te Tapu o Tāne’s impact while working with Tāhuna Ride and Conservation (TRAC), and have therefore committed all funds raised to go directly to Te Tapu o Tāne to expand their regeneration efforts on Coronet Peak foothills.

Use of funds

With your support, we can help regenerate native forests and biodiversity. All funds raised will go towards native tree planting. Our fundraising target of $50,000 would plant at least 7,000 trees!
