Five year old Renee needs our support greatly, please help in whatever way you can.
Auckland
On the 23rd of May, 2016, Renee (Lefau) was admitted into Starship hospital after complaints of body aches, a fever and looking very pale. Her blood test showed her blood count was very low, so she underwent a bone marrow test and a lumber puncture. On 25th May, the results came back and Renee was diagnosed with High risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Her parents thought the visit would be a quick one and she would just need a few days bed rest to recover before returning back to school, but instead it changed her world as she knows it - tipping it upside down.
The doctors advised that Renee's treatment would take two and a half years ending in 2019. Renee is only 5 years old, a twin and one of 4 children and her condition has had a huge impact on her siblings whom she is very close with.
She currently visits Starship twice a week to meet with her oncologist and a full day of chemotherapy. She is on her 6th week of treatment and already, her family has watched their little girl transform right before their eyes, their hearts breaking daily. Her treatment will be carried out in stages, the first 6 months will be intense followed by a maintenance programme.
It is a period of great uncertainty and challenges, physically, emotionally and financially, for Renee and her family - please help in whatever way you can.
Thank you and may the Lord's blessings be upon your generous hearts.
We would like to help the Lefau family even in this small way, please join us in supporting them through this difficult time.

Beautiful, keep writing Renee! May the Lord bless you.
Renee loves to write, this morning while Baki and I were talking at the table she began to write and as she did she read out each word. We could not hold back our tears. It is easy to forget from time to time she is fighting cancer. As challenging as it may be some days this only makes her stronger as she doesn't back down for anyone. Renee does it with so much strength and courage. She makes dancing for us in the rain possible because she does it so gracefully❤️
