We respect and nurture the biodiversity around us. Our first step is to plant 100,000 native trees for future generations.

New Zealand Sustainable Farming working in partnership with Durham Farms is committed to protecting the environment for our future generations. We are restoring at least 25% of our farmland to native habitat to provide sanctuary for New Zealand's unique wildlife.
Our goal is to plant 100,000 natives trees and plants to restore important forest, wetlands and waterways on our farm. A $5 donation, the price of a coffee, will enable the purchase and planting of one native tree.
As part of our ongoing conservation efforts we have already:
1. Reduced the number of livestock on our farms;
2. Fenced off native forest, wetlands and waterways;
3. Adopted organic and sustainable farming practices which includes not using synthetic fertilisers, antibiotics or pesticides;
4. Engaged our community with an ongoing pest control programme on farm and on neighbouring land;
5. Reduced our carbon footprint by using renewables and minimising waste where possible;
6. Planted thousands of trees with the support of the local community and schools.
This work is enabling us to protect and extend the native habitat on our farm and create important wildlife corridors to land beyond. We already have thriving populations of the endangered Hochstetter's frog and the Longfin eel. With our ongoing pest control programme we hope to provide sanctuary for other important New Zealand wildlife including the North Island Brown Kiwi.
A $5 donation, the price of a coffee, will enable the purchase and planting of one native tree on our farm. To reach our goal, we need to plant 100,000 trees. All funds received as part of the campaign will go towards this goal.

Thank you for your support.
All funds received will go towards the purchase and planting of native trees to create biodiversity corridors and regenerate native bush on our and like-minded farms. Our farms are located on Durham Road, north of the Brynderwyn hills, south of Whangerei. They back on to Department of Conservation land and, according to Whangarei District Council, they have environmental significance in the Waipu area.
