This volunteer teacher needs to buy art, music and climbing gear to take to the kids he'll be working with at Greece's Ritsona refugee camp.
International
800 refugees live in desperate conditions at Ritsona Refugee camp just north of Athens in Greece.
Most have fled the on-going war in Syria. Many of them are children and youth.
It's summer at Ritsona, and even water is becoming scarce. By August, when Keith Olsen heads to the camp as a volunteer music, art and outdoor education teacher, temperatures will be in the 40s. Keith knows it won't be easy working in that kind of heat - but what really worries him is that he won't have the resources he needs to support his classes.
Keith's paying for his food, accommodation and transport out of his own pocket but he desperately needs your help to pay for musical instruments, guitar strings, coloured pencils, paper, paints and crayons. He'll be establishing an outdoor adventure course that will need ropes, harnesses, and karabiners. And busy kids get thirsty - even the smallest donation can help provide clean, bottled water for his active students.
Every cent Keith receives from GiveaLittle will go directly to purchasing resources to take into Ritsona Refugee Camp. This is a chance to to see your money in action.
Thanks for your terrific support. I'm in Greece, now, and will be heading to Ritsona camp in just under 2 weeks. Cheers, Keith.
Thanks so much. It's wonderful to have your support. Keith
