Ron's Walkathon - help raise $90,000 for the Canterbury Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service
Canterbury
Before he turns 90 this year, Ron Towner wants to raise $90,000 for the Canterbury Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. He plans to do it by walking around the block every day for 90 days. Ron has long admired the work of the Rescue Helicopter crews, and wants to help make a difference at a time when events and community fundraising for the Rescue Helicopter Service have been devastated by Covid. Each year the Trust needs to raise $6m to fully provision services to its communities. With the support of his family, Ron is ready for the challenge. He is challenging you, the community for whom this service is so important, to support his efforts by donating to help save lives.
The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust fundraises to support the delivery of Canterbury's Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and the West Coast's ROA Mining Rescue Helicopter Service. Each year the Trust needs to raise $6m to provision the service 24/7.
Funding will help support the core costs of service delivery, to help meet the annual shortfall in Government funding to deliver rescue helicopter services to our communities 24/7
