The 'Last Push' for funds to get the Roxburgh Skate Park Built for our local kids!
Otago
For a few years now we have been fundraising towards the dream of building a Skate Board Park in Roxburgh as requested by our local kids. And after a lot of work we are nearly there! We have $142,000 of a $165,000 Goal - But we need your help to finish this project off. We are keen to get building April / Map 2020.
The Skate Park will be built at the top of the main Roxburgh Play Ground (King George Park) on the edge of the old Tennis Courts. The design has been done to allow for continued use of the old tennis courts as extra parking for the Bowling Club and Recycling Station.
Our Skate Park will cater for all ages, with a 'Scooter Path' in front moving down the bank a little, with a few bumps and burs for the younger kids to gain confidence and up skill before moving onto the larger 'Street Style' park above. Kids can use Scooters, Skateboards, Bikes and Roller Blades, etc.. plus we will also have a small half court basketball area, covered picnic seating, and wooded half pipe. The area will be fully fenced and landscaped with native plants.
We are really keen to get this built for our local Teviot Valley kids, they have waited a long time for this to come. We see our Skate Park as a great place for them to burn off extra energy, learn new skills and get them off the devices. Our park will also give visitors and extra reason to stop and visit our beautiful valley.
So please - every dollar counts!
