Across 12 months RUNTHE12 runners will utilise our passion for running to make a positive difference by raising money for local NZ charities

From 2017 through to 2022 the focus is New Zealand children’s health and wellness. The four chosen charities for these years are KidsCan, Variety and Make A Wish Foundation. RUNTHE12 aims to raise funds and awareness for these charities who make a significant contribution to the health and well being of New Zealand children on a daily basis.

Long term, RUNTHE12 aims to motivate runners whether they be a ‘Joe the everyday jogger’ or Usain Bolt athlete, throughout New Zealand, becoming involved and running for a cause, not only ourselves as individuals. Essentially, if we can utilise and contribute our passion and hobbies into making a positive difference, charities, donators, runners and receivers are all winning the race!

Among many sports kids, growing up in New Zealand, running, well sports is in our genes, along with always being driven to help others in need and knowing that every child deserves an equal chance in life to the child who sits next to them in school .. to be able to create an initiative which combines the three, why wouldn't we take these opportunities, well, create these opportunities and project to make the difference in kiwi kids lives simply by doing what we love! Running! or sport!

Use of funds

All funds donated to RUNTHE12 will be split equally between the charities. Ideally I’d love myself and the team to visit some families and children that each charity or foundation has helped and donate to the charities directly. Every update, news and steps of this mission will be shared with you and will be released on our media pages as much as possible.
