Sailing around Vanuatu and back to New Zealand to raise awareness and money to save our oceans.
Nationwide
To raise awareness of the plight of our oceans and the importance of keeping them clean and healthy I will sailing around the islands of Vanuatu before sailing across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand.
The first week or so will be spent travelling the islands diving to document to pollution and impact of tourism on the oceans and local communities.
Our oceans are the life of our planet, unfortunately they have been abused by humanity and driven to the brink or irreversible damage.
We can take everything natural out of them and pour pollution into them.
We sailing this journey I hope to inspire and encourage you to your little but for our world.
The easiest step is being more conscious about what you buy, what you eat, how you dispose of trash, how you recycle and more importantly how you think.
The next step, if you can, is to donate.
The journey will be documented by both a blog and hopefully a published article.
The links to the blog and social media can be found at the end of this page.
The money raised will go to two charities, evenly split.
Using simple but state of the art technology to clear up the "GREAT PACIFIC GARBAGE PATCH" .
One patch of trash in the over 80,000TONNES of trash floating between Hawaii and California.
With Ocean Clean Up, this will be reduced by HALF EVERY 5 YEARS!
Or
The registered charity of Sea Shepherd NZ are considered "The Whales Navy". Using an impressive fleet of boats and an army of volunteers, SEA SHEPHERD travel the globe hunting illegal fishing vessel, whaling boats, clearing nets and running campaigns to rid our seas of the pirates who pillage the environment unsustainably and for their own gain.
Between these two charities I think its pretty good start at both protecting our marine life and cleaning up our own mess. Wouldn't you agree?
Please Share, Like, Follow the journey and if you can...donate to this cause.
Thank you so much for caring, you're helping us save the planet!
