Samoa Lifestyle Leave ends with Critical Illness

Alei and her husband Fiaalii decided after many months of deliberation to try out Samoa for one year and see if Fiaalii could start up a car rental business.

They have two beautiful children and wanted them to understand their culture in Samoa and spend time with their great grandfather. They have been enrolled in school in Samoa and are thriving within their culture and have made good friends.

Fiaalii has sadly contracted Dengue Fever and due to the advancement of this virus has been admitted to ICU in Samoa. He is too sick to come home unless on the New Zealand Medical Plane. Unfortunately they do not have medical insurance to cover them, nor travel insurance.

Alei has confirmed the order of $20,000 worth of medication to be sent to Samoa, and Fiaalii has been administered with this over the course of the last 2 days. He today is on dialysis and the family are hoping for improvement to his current state.

I am hoping to raise funds to cover the cost of the medication. They are a hard working family, who want the best for their children. To have a dream such as theirs be diminished in the first 6 weeks of their adventure together as a family is heart breaking.
