To raise funds for Samuel’s opportunity of intensive therapy at NAPA
Manawatu / Whanganui
Our four-year-old son, Samuel has a cerebellum (little brain) smaller than is usual in a child his age. He has undergone genetic testing and the results have been inconclusive. His condition is rare and incurable. The role of the cerebellum is to control balance and speech and because of this he cannot walk or talk. Samuel has an opportunity to attend intensive therapy at a Neurological and Physical Abilitation Centre (NAPA) in Sydney, Australia for a daily 4-hour programme over a three-week period, divided into 1 hour speech therapy, 3 hours of physical and occupational therapy.
Samuel can crawl and after being assisted into his chair for meals, is able to feed himself. His ability to understand the spoken word is well understood. Because of his condition his developmental skills is slow and attending this intensive therapy would afford him every opportunity within his physical abilities.

$10,500 is for the three-week intensive therapy programme. Excess funds would go toward travel and accomodation for Samuel.
