Any support would be greatly appreciated as Mum (Sarah Crookes) has been diagnosed with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer
Auckland
In November 2020 the Crookes trio walked the 11km John-West Traverse to support Sarah's spinal rehabilitation, Sarah had two back operations in 2019 that she is still recovering from.
Since her walk Sarah has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Pancreatic cancer which is stage four Adenocarcinoma. It has spread to her Liver, Lungs, Ovaries and Retro-Peritoneal which is all inoperable
We are starting Sarah's Cancer fund for the on-going cost of care, living and treatment due to the diagnosis.
Mum is currently working with Hospice and the palliative care team while she awaits chemotherapy which will hopefully manage her symptoms and improve her quality of life.
If treatment is successful, this will hopefully extend Mum's life to about 12 months. Without successful treatment it is expected that Mum only has a matter of months.
Mum is also looking into alternative therapies. As both the Public and Private sector have said a treatment cycle of Folfirnox Chemotherapy every 14 days is the only option.
Sadly due to how aggressive and widespread her cancer is, it has been deemed incurable and inoperable
We appreciate everyone's on-going support during this time
I am the daughter to this beneficiary
The funds will be used to care and support Sarah during Treatment and Palliative care
