Elvira requires an intensive care at Auckland Hospital because she had a stroke. She had a blood clot and needed emergency brain surgery.
Auckland
Janrel, Elvira’s son is working in Auckland, New Zealand to support his family here in New Zealand and his family back home in the Philippines and there is absolutely no way that he can provide the whole medical expenses for her stay in the hospital so there is no alternative other than to ask for public assistance.
Elvira is 49 years old and the mother of three children aged 30, 29 and 16 and a grandmother of two.
Janrel invited her mother here in New Zealand to meet Jared Baroro his son, her grandson in person and to attend his first birthday. Her temporary visitor’s visa was approved and she was given a two-month visitor’s visa. She arrived here in New Zealand on the 15th of July 2019, about a week prior to his son’s birthday, which is July 21. We can see how happy they were together and every single day that they spent with her was full of joy and excitement.
Her stay with them for about a month was not enough so Janrel applied for a visit visa extension to allow them to spend more time together especially with Jared, her grandson, as she wants to take care and look after him.
20th of August 2019 he lodged her application and waited for several weeks for the result. On 2nd of September 2019 at around 7 a.m., she received a letter from Immigration New Zealand, which informed her that her application was not accepted for processing because it is incomplete. Upon reading the letter, she seemed nervous and tense as it meant losing the opportunity to spend more time with her family, especially her grandson. We didn’t realize the impact that the letter had on her since she keeps her emotions to herself.
At around 9:00 a.m., our friend saw her in the terrace with her face so red and her lips were so pale, constantly pulling her hair and vomiting. Janrel’s wife and our friend immediately called 111 for help. She was rushed in North Shore Hospital and the doctor said she had a stroke. She was advised for CT scan for further diagnosis regarding her condition. It was then revealed that she had a blood clot and needed immediate transfer to Auckland Hospital for an emergency brain surgery.
At this time, she is still admitted at Auckland Hospital Ward 82 and she’s still in unconscious state. Elvira is only for a visit visa and sadly she has no travel insurance to support her medical expenses. They are charged 1,500 NZD a day for her hospital expenses.
Our groups of friends are supporting this family and are committed to giving financially themselves but this is a lot of money to raise so on behalf of the Baroro family we ask for your help to save Elvira’s life. He actually didn’t ask for anything but we decided to set up this page because we believe there will be many people who will want to help save Elvira’s life.
All funds raised will be paid to the bank account of Janrel Baroro, her son.
Thank you in anticipation of your generosity and God bless you.
I am a very close friend of Janrel Baroro and I consider him as my brother. In his difficult time today we are supporting and helping him.
$50,000 NZ dollars will provide an intensive care management which will save Elvira's life
