URGENT! Help Save two Crocs who have suffered in baron, litter filled pits behind a Honiara Cafe for 12 years.
Moonshine Valley, Wellington
In October 2024 the HUHA Vet team traveled to the Solomon Islands to desex street dog and cats.
While there we were told about two crocodiles living in appalling conditions - two small barren, litter filled pits behind the Koconut Cafe in Honiara. The Crocs has been living in these dreadful pits their entire lives - 12years. Surviving solely on rainwater and scraps from the cafe.
Our team were told that although people and organisations knew of the crocs and their terrible existence, no one had been able to secure them a safe and happy future.
We couldn't just walk away, so our team located the owners of the crocs and after some negotiating managed to get them signed over to HUHA!!
We are working with the private sanctuary owner who is willing to take them. They are building them a habitat which will cost us approx $40k(AUD). We think its seriously worth every dollar to get them out of their pits!!
We are so grateful to Australia Zoo who have committed to meet us in the Solomon's on the 2nd of March and with their experience and expertise, safely relocate the crocs to their new habitats.
If you would like to help us build the new crocodile habitats for these two severely neglected crocs.....Please consider donating to this Givealittle page.
Our Vet Team are travelling back to the Solomons Feb 26 -March 6 to desex more animals and during that visit we will relocate the crocodiles to the new habitats that you have helped us build.
