200kg of medical books have been donated and my task is to ship them to medical students in Zambia.

Health is a privilege. Some people seem to be in good health most of the time where as others struggle with one thing after another. It is always a relief when you visit a doctor and they know what to do to help you. Sometimes doctors don't have the answers, but have access to resources that help them find these answers. Medical students need access to medical books to help them achieve their goal of becoming doctors. As one student put it, 'books are part of our everyday life.' This is true now and for the rest of their lives, as there will be times when they will refer back to the books, be it to teach their juniors or to refresh their knowledge.
I believe assisting these students will be our way of touching not only their careers, but the lives of all the patients that will come to them for help. The books have been collected! They weigh 200kg! We just need to ship them to Zambia. A shipping company has offered an amazing discount but the cost is still $1000. I would like to fundraise money to get these books to people who need them.
I am working on a project to help medical students in Zambia. I have collected medical books donated by doctors in New Zealand that I would like to send to them. I am starting this page to raise funds to cover the shipping costs.
The money will be spent on shipping costs and handling fees. Any surplus will be donated to the medical school library in Lusaka, Zambia.
