I'm shaving my head to help support the Paroli family whose son Liam is undergoing cancer treatment.
Wellington
Liam, 10, was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing a gruelling regime of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Liam is making good progress with his treatment, but his family are having to make huge sacrifices. Andy, his mum, has quit her job to accompany Liam to his treatments both in Palmerston North and at Starship Hospital, and try to keep some normality in his siblings' lives.
Sam, Liam's dad, is a firefighter with the Otaki Volunteer Fire Brigade. The brigade has got behind fundraising in support of the family, and have organised a 'Shave for Liam' event on August 20.
Through my partner Simon, I have developed a close connection with the Otaki Fire Brigade and I am determined to do what I can to help out this lovely family, so I will be shaving my head on the night! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my hair so this is a big deal for me! That's why I want to raise as much as I possibly can for such a great cause.
Liam is part of the 'Brigade Family' and we are all in this together.
I am doing my bit to contribute to the team effort that the Otaki Fire Brigrade are putting in. Liam is part of the 'Brigade Family' and we are all in this together.
Travel for the family to and from Starship hospital and helping with daily expenses.
