Shaving my hair to help my beautiful friends

My beautiful bestfriend Toni was in hospital during lockdown with liver issues. It was such a shock to us all what news was to follow.

Toni was diagnosed in May with stage 4 bowel cancer and secondary liver cancer. Toni is currently pregnant with her and husband Lukes second child and they have a 2 year old daughter Havana.

Once she has her baby in September she will then undergo surgery to remove 3 tumours on her liver. This is a truly invasive surgery for anyone to go through let alone a mother with a newborn baby. Once healed she will then undergo further surgery to remove her bowel tumour.

Toni will be spending a long time in hospital recovering from her surgerys. Luke will be needing to take time away from his busy plumbing business to look after their daughter and baby.

I have decided to shave my hair with Toni in the coming weeks. Toni is needing to leave her job and Luke will be needing to take a lot of time off to care for the kids while Toni is in hospital. I feel helpless and know that if some financial pressure can be eased it will be a small weight off their shoulders.

Toni and Luke really are such great friends to us and watching them go through such sad times really is heartbreaking.
