  • We did our best     20 January 2020

Our lawyer submitted on Inosi's behalf in August and it was turned down by immigration. Sadly Inosi has decided that the expense and uncertainty mean that the marriage is no longer viable. Sharon would like to thank donors for their support both financial and personal. "Immigration won" she says.

Thank you for your support. I am sorry we don't have better news.

  • Documents mustered and submitted to our lawyer     26 April 2019

Sharon has mustered 17 documents: copies of passports, birth certificates, letter of support, sponsorship form etc and put them in a big dropbox in the sky. Adele our lawyer will see them when she gets back from leave next week.

Let's hope and pray we have enough.

Sharon (with Hugh McCafferty in support) met with immigration lawyer Adele Mitchell of Saunders &Co. As it happened we were in lock down at the lawyers office on 15 March but it was nevertheless a very positive meeting. We now have a way forward. In the first instance they say "We estimate our fee to prepare and submit the application(s)/response to Immigration New Zealand will be $1,800.00 plus GST, plus the INZ application fee of $706.00 including GST ($495.00 for the work visa and $211.00 for the visitor visa)."

Sharon is now amassing the necessary documentation before we make the application. She is heartened by the support from this community and now feels that this is do-able and that she might get to live with her husband after all.

Thank you all for bringing us this far. We can do this.
