Please help me achieve my dream of winning gold for NZ at the first ever Olympic Karate event in Tokyo 2020.

My biggest dream is to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo – but I have the small problem of getting to the other side of the world to participate in a few of the major qualifying tournaments! To have a shot at qualifying, I need to accumulate as many world ranking points as possible. There are 7 K1 Premier League events in the WKF (World Karate Federation) calendar, on top of the Oceania Championships and Senior World Championships scheduled throughout 2018.
I very humbly ask (or major grovelling) for your help with funding the ‘big ticket’ items entailed with this endeavour. If I am to achieve my goal of attending 6 out of the 9 tournaments next year, I will need around $8,000 just for flights and accommodation alone. I am working my butt off to make this a reality but with 2 part-time jobs, training like a maniac and teaching karate, it’s just not enough.
This year I was ranked 13 for my weight division, and as the current Oceania Champion, I truly believe that I can be part of this historic event as a proud Kiwi and bring home some Olympic bling for New Zealand.
The Karate world has waited an age to see our life-changing martial art become an Olympic sport. If you could spare the price of barista-made coffee, a flight to Europe, or somewhere in between, I would be immeasurably grateful for your support and owe you big time! Epic fist bump and/or hysterical hug coming your way!
I will post updates on Facebook so you know how my journey is going & how the funds are being spent!
I began Karate as most people do, not to compete with dreams of the Olympics but to gain confidence, self-discipline and learn how to defend myself. Karate has shaped the person I am today as it has led to many opportunities that I had not envisaged. I wish to raise awareness of this incredible martial art and contribute to NZ by being one of the top players in world karate.
I share my love of Karate by helping teach traditional and sport Karate to others at our Jyoshinmon Shorin-Ryu Dojo and run Karate specific fitness classes through Dojo Fitness and at our NZ National Squad Training Camps as a Fitness Instructor.

Funds will be used for Senior World's competition in 2020.
Original Use of funds-
To minimise costs I have created this schedule:
There is a cluster of tournaments in Dubai, Salzberg & Rotterdam, I will stay with family in London as a base in Feb-Mar. Building up to Senior World Championships I will attend the Berlin K1 (Sep) & Tokyo K1 (Oct) which is key as I will need to be comfortable in the 2020 host city. Finally the World Champs in Madrid (Nov).
Moving forward 4 August 2020
Hi all!
Just letting you know competitions in NZ are starting up again! Central North Island Champs (CNI) next month then Nationals the month after. The NZ Olympic Committee have said that the Tokyo Olympic Committee are committed to the Games going ahead in July to August 2021, so we'll see how the Covid 19 crisis develops over the next 6 months...
I was also interviewed by the very kind and talented Suzanne McFadden of News Room. You can read the piece on here: https://www.newsroom.co.nz/lockerroom/the-karate-kid-who-stood-up-to-her-bullies
Hope you are all well, safe and happy! Have a wonderful day!
