We want to provide Jillian and Cade with as much support, both financially and emotionally as we can
Canterbury
Jillian is a solo working mother of Cade (11) living in Rangiora, Christchurch. She works full time to provide for Cade, who is has been diagnosed as having ADHD. Despite the challenges she has faced, she has never once complained and never asks for help.
After gardening over a week a go she contracted Legionnaires disease which was tragically, after 2 visits to the Drs, not picked up until Thursday at which time the infection was deeply set in her lungs and she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.
She was put on an aggressive antibiotic and oxygen, but hours later was struggling to breathe so much that the decision was made to put her into a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator. Since then the strain on her body has led to multiple organs failing and being supported by machines. Last night she was flown to Auckland for more specialized care.
Cade and the rest of Jillians family are now faced with being in limbo as we must wait and see what the outcome of this traumatic experience will be.
The family are focusing on Cade, who needs routine and structure, surrounding him with love and trying to provide him with as much normalcy as they can during the time he needs it the most.
I'm Jillians sister-in-Law, Anna is Jillians sister
Any money raised will be used for essentials like keeping rent and power paid, Cades day to day needs and flights to and from Auckland so he can see his Mum while still going to school in Rangiora.

Update time folks. So Jillian is spending some time being less sedated which is amazing. Shes had a set back from contracting a separate infection in her lungs which is being treated with antibiotics. She has had a tracheotomy to make things easier with breathing tubes etc.
She is still extremely weak (although incredibly strong at the same time). All we can do it take it day by day (a saying I seem to have on repeat lately!) but we are so grateful to see her making a recovery, however slowly it may be. Thank you again for all your support.
