#Sometimes you choose your battles sometimes they choose you#

I have known Mel for 21 years. Mel has given me the horrible news that no woman wants to hear. A lump that appeared quickly at the side of one of Mel’s breasts was aggressive breast cancer.

Mel made the decision to get both breasts removed. Despite the double mastectomy Mel was sure she was going to beat this breast cancer which didn't hold her back or slow her down. She was back at work very quickly and was eager to carry on with life.

Three weeks ago, approximately 22 months after having her breast cancer diagnosis, Mel had a bad headache which didn't go away and led her to A&E. She was to find out through scans that she has several brain tumors which are sadly inoperable.

Cancer is going to win and eventually take Mel’s life. She is such an amazing mum but has sadly had to give up her full time job so I have decided to set up a Give-a-little page to support such a devoted mum to her two wonderful children Sophie (7) and Mason (5) and her loving supportive partner John, to take some of pressure off her everyday living costs and make memories.

With only one income coming in Mel was given approximately 8 months more quality time.

Thank you
