Central Finance South Island Charity Cycle Ride

$15,254 of $100,000 goal
Given by 135 generous donors in around 4 months

We're cycling the length of the South Island to raise money for the Taranaki Rural Support Trust!

Nationwide

We’re a group of 25 determined individuals who are training to compete in The Central Finance South Island Charity Ride. This epic challenge will see us cycle the length of the South Island to help raise more than $100,000 for the Taranaki Rural Support Trust.

We will start this journey on Monday 9 February 2015 in Picton and plan to cycle 1125km down the West Coast, to Bluff. Although the terrain is tough, we’re hoping to complete this gruelling challenge in nine days.

The Taranaki Rural Support Trust is a charitable organisation which provides support to individuals and families who are dealing with depression and suicide in the rural environment. Our goal is to make the public aware of the impact depression and suicide has on family, friends and our communities, and we’re all very proud to be doing this for such a worthy cause.

Each rider has to raise $1,500.00 to participate in this challenge and, while we have many generous sponsors who have helped cover our costs, we still need help to reach our goal.

If you would like to help us to support this amazing charity, please donate now. Every dollar counts and each contribution is appreciated. 100% of all funds raised are going directly to the Taranaki Rural Support Trust.

About us

Rural Support personnel are trained to manage all types of rural challenges. Often all that’s needed is someone to talk to, listen to, more so with the new legislation regarding freshwater, biodiversity and methane.

To Darrel and Nicola, Thank you very much for allowing me to join you and the 24 others, for the first half of day one. As they say locally we do not have many hills, but we do have wind to test you. Hearty congratulations to you all for a great ride successfully completed down the South Island. John Blundell johnhb@kinect.co.nz
