Sports shoes for the sports stars of KAASO Uganda
Help us buy netball shoes and football boots for the children representing KAASO in regional sports competitions in June!

When I was a volunteer at KAASO Primary School in Uganda, one of the tasks that I took on was to coach the netball teams. Netball practices took place twice a week, on the sports field where we first had to fight for a space from the football boys, and then we had to bring either flour or ash from the kitchen to mark out the lines of the netball courts. The girls are dedicated, competitive and proud to represent their school. However, most of them play in bare feet or sandals as they don't have the appropriate sports shoes.
KAASO has regional sports competitions coming up at the end of June, and I've pledged to help them raise the funds to ensure both their netball and football teams have the right footwear to play in.
Just $15 NZD ($10 USD) will buy one pair of netball shoes and socks for a netballer (20 girls in total) and $30 NZD ($20 USD) will buy one pair of football boots and socks for a footballer (46 boys in total).

In 2016 I spent six weeks as a volunteer at St Paul KAASO Primary School in Kyotera, Uganda. The children and staff stole my heart, and I believe they are very deserving of ongoing time and support!
Use of funds
MILESTONES:
With $300 NZD - the 20 netballers will be sorted!
With an additional $1,380 NZD - the 46 footballers will be sorted!
With anything over and above the target - we'll be able to buy school shoes for the children who have the most need.

Thank you SO much to all of you generous donors - with your help we managed to raise the money for 20 new pairs of netball shoes and 36 new pairs of football boots! Thank you for doing your bit to help develop kids' sport in Uganda. I have sent the money off to Uganda today and hopefully I'll have some photos to share of the kids at their regional sports competitions at the end of June! Thank you again for your kindness - a new pair of shoes really means so much to these children, and I know they will wear them with pride on the netball court or the football pitch.
