St Joseph's Hall needs more chairs to accommodate the growing number of people seeking assistance and community connectivity.
Taranaki
St Joseph's Church Hall is 50 years old and is used for over 35 Community Groups that have limited or no funds, to hold meetings and connect with others. The Hall is cold and acoustically very difficult to hear people speak, as the noise bounces off the concrete floor.
On a weekly basis, the St Vincent de Paul Society serve the Community with a free dinner. On a monthly basis the Youth of New Plymouth also provide a meal at no charge.
The Hall is also the venue for the annual Community Christmas Dinner which hosts approximately 200+ people for Christmas Lunch - also at no cost.
We would like to upgrade the Main Hall floor with carpet squares and purchase 85 new chairs, to give us a total of 250 chairs. This will enable the facility to meet the demands of the increasing number of people who are seeking support to feed themselves and their families.
We expect the number of families requiring support to rise once the lockdown has been lifted.
The Catholic Parish of NP administers pastoral support to Catholics and non-Catholics in the North Taranaki district. The St Joseph's Community Hall is made available to many community groups who have limited funds to hire a venue or meeting rooms.
Install carpet squares onto the original floor surface.
Purchase 85 chairs.
The number of chairs can be altered to fit with the amount of funds raised.
Thank you very much - we really appreciate your support.
