Help us replace my dads diving and fishing gears lost in a shed fire
Bay of Plenty
On the 27th of December 2017 a fire gutted my parents shed, reducing everything inside, and the shed itself, to rubble.
My dad was making lead sinkers at the time when he accidentally burned himself, which started a chain reaction leading to the entire shed being engulfed in flames. Good news was our father wasnt hurt and only received minor injuries, bad news they lost everything stored in the shed, which included a bbq, multi kai cooker, various household furniture, mower and gardening equipment, tools, drum kit etc. But the most important possessions lost to the fire were his diving and fishing gears.
My dad is an avid diver and fisher, and by losing this equipment (especially during this time of the year) hes lost the ability to gather kaimoana for my mum (who has just recently overcome stage 2 breast cancer). Our only hope from this is to replace the diving and fishing gear he lost.
I am the daughter of Paul and Reremoana (Bub)
Funds will be used to replace my fathers diving and fishing gear. Any surplus will be donated to the Opotiki SPCA
