Effie is facing an aggressive cancer diagnosis (MPNST) only nine months after she and her husband adopted their young child.
Auckland
9 months ago Effie and Diksa’s lives were filled with love and new beginnings as they finally brought their adopted daughter home.
Recently, Effie was diagnosed with a highly aggressive cancer affecting the nerves (Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumour or MPNST). This has unfortunately already been graded a stage 4 cancer and has spread to the lungs. She is preparing to begin palliative chemotherapy, not in the hopes of a cure but to provide temporary relief from symptoms and to allow her to spend more time with family.
This diagnosis has turned their world upside down at a time when they were just finding their rhythm as a new family.
To help them focus on Effie’s treatment and their child without the burden of financial stress, we are raising funds to help pay for day-to-day expenses including their mortgage.
Please consider donating to help this family stay together at home, surrounded by stability and comfort, during such a challenging time. Your generosity means more than words can express.
I met Effie through our adoption journeys. Our girls grew up together and share a close, sister-like bond. Their family is navigating an unimaginably difficult time, and we hope this support brings them stability when they need it most.
• To help with everyday living costs
• To support their mortgage
• To relieve financial pressure so they can focus on time together as a family
