Raising funds for Sinead to get the help she needs, a Hysterectomy, in order for her and her family to have a quality of life again.
Auckland
May 2017 Sinead began her Journey of Suffering with Endometriosis.
During a 28 day cycle she is in pain minimum 3 weeks, she is on a strong cocktail of pain medication just to be able to get through day to day life, but still struggles with small things, such as standing for even short periods of time, driving and wearing pants hurts far too much. She has three year old twins and and eleven year old, which she can't spend time with as she's crippled over in pain most of the time.
Unfortunately there aren't many treatments for endometritis, however there is some, like the contraceptive pill that the doctors and medical/pain teams at the Hospital have tried to help her with. The side effects and the pain for her increases and she is then unable to have any sort of quality of life.
Until Aug 2020, she had been declined to be seen as a Gynae outpatient, so had no other treatment options or pain plans in place. Finally the Gynae team saw her and one gynae Doctor decided enough is enough and took her on as an outpatient under him and agreed a hysterotomy would be the best option. She was told in August 2020 she would have a Hysterectomy within 4 months. Unfortunately due to the severity and complex surgery the wait time has extended from 4 months to still unknown.
She has now reached a limit, she has no quality of life, suffering in pain 24/7 for 21 days out of her 28 day cycle. Her family are suffering and most often than not she cannot go into the hospital to get the treatment she needs as that means her husband has to have time off work to look after the children, which they can't afford and causes more stresses, which means a worse flare up. There is no family or support networks for them to look after the kids instead.
Her mental health has now deteriorated and she really is at the end of her coping ability.
She needs a Hysterectomy as soon as possible and that can only be done Privately. I have opened this page in order to raise funds to get her the treatment she needs to then have quality of life that she deserves and a mum that her kids need. She is an amazing mother, supportive and caring friend and this is the least we can do to help her enjoy life again.
Please help her out and lets raise the funds for her to get the surgery.
She is a supportive, caring friend, who will go out of her way for anyone she knows.
Paying for Surgery: Hysterectomy privately. She will start by paying for specialists and then for her husband to have time off work to look after three kids so she can have pain management in hospital, when required.
Update 27/10/2021 27 October 2021
I have received news that my surgery will now be covered by the public health system and is scheduled for the 5th of Nov. Funds will now be used for living costs as my husband will be needing off 2 -3 weeks to help take care of our 3 children while I am recovering from surgery as well as when I attend any pre-op and post-op appointment. Any left over funds I would like to donate to the endo warriors Aotearoa to help other females in a similar situation to myself. Given the change in circumstances we are offering everyone a refund if they prefer. If you'd like a refund please get in touch with Givealittle at helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by 5pm 3/11/2021.
