High Performance Sport
Dunedin, Otago
We’re Will White & Eric Stratton. We're a beach volleyball team from Dunedin that have been selected to represent New Zealand at the World University Champs in Brazil, in September this year. We’re entirely amateur athletes, and are trying to balance being a high performance team with our day to day lives. Will is involved with rugby concussion research in Phys Ed school and Eric is an undergraduate law & commerce student. We are keenly involved in the local volleyball community both as players, coaches and in management roles, so we are incredibly passionate about our sport.
We need your help! Our international campaign and domestic seasons are all funded out of our own pockets, which is a big ask when trying to balance work with study and training. We’re reaching out to our friends, family and wider community to help our cause.
About our trip:
All up we're away for a month. After departing Auckland in mid-August, we'll be spending two weeks in Los Angeles, training and competing in local events. From there we head to Brazil to link up with some local teams and coaches for a week-long training camp in São Paulo. The big event is the World Champs, held in Maceió over 6-10th September.
Our estimated cost per player is somewhere between $7000-8000. We have been fortunate to get some sponsors on board but still need to reduce our costs to make the dream real!

The funds raised will contribute towards costs of our World Champs campaign. This includes flights, accomodation, coach costs, entry fees, uniforms, and other costs while we are competing and training in Los Angeles, São Paulo, and Maceió.
