Student Exchange Trip to America

I am currently trying to save up enough money to pay for my student exchange trip to America in August this year. I have so far been able to save around $4,000 from working and have also won a scholarship which has taken $2,500 off my total cost. But I am still just over $6,000 short.

My ambition is to save all the money myself in different ways without my parents having to pay for any of it. And despite my calculations I know I'll only be able to save another $3,000 from working. Leaving me just over $3,000 short of my goal. I will be able to do fundraisers through school as well as my own little bits and pieces, but this Give A Little page will be able to push me to my goal with the help of kind strangers like you :)

My reasoning for this trip is it is a great way to not only end year 13, but to also allow me to gain a new independence and understanding of the world. I have always wanted to travel and this is possibly my only opportunity to ever study abroad. I am hoping this experience will teach me new life skills and knowledge that I can keep with me forever. I will be able to fully surround myself in a completely new culture, around completely new people in a completely different part of the world.

I am also wanting to study drama while I'm over there as this is one of my big passions. I have always loved acting and performing in general and having new knowledge on skills I can bring back with me from America to University here will help my greatly. I will be able to embrace a whole different side and take on drama and acting.
