Sukey's trip to the International Model UN

I am a year 13 student at Mount Hutt College; I am deputy head girl and co-leader of the student council. I was selected to attend The Hague Model United Nations (THIMUN) with a delegation of 22 students from around New Zealand. I was also selected as Head Delegate for the trip is a huge honour that I cannot begin to comprehend.

This trip is in January 2015 and will last for around 3 and a half weeks, for the first five days we will be spending our time in New York and going to places like the Museum of Modern art and the United Nations Head Quarters. Then we will be travelling to Geneva, Berlin, Brussels and Amsterdam; finally we will travel to The Hague where we will participate in the one-week conference, debating and negotiating with over 4000 students from around the world.

After this trip I will be studying a Bachelor of Laws and and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in International Relations at Victoria University in Wellington. I hope to then follow a career in Diplomacy or the UN where I can help others who face inequality every day.

Coming from a small town, THIMUN is the trip of a lifetime and any donation, no matter how small, is welcomed with my sincere gratitude. Thank you to all who are supporting and helping me with my dream.
