Hey everyone. My friends and are are trying to finish our group project of making the perfect holiday treat. a floating picnic!
Waikato
my friends and I are dreaming of a beautiful summer holiday on the water. We thought we could make a cheap fun project that everyone could join in on. the problem we have is that we thought we could do it for a lot cheaper and we are all broke :(
We have constructed our dream craft (with a few minor repairs and alterations still needed) but we have one big problem... no engine! We got a floating picnic tale constructed that should hold 4-8 people but the engine we struggled to save up for just doesn't work it. it was too small when it did work and had lots of running issues.
we took our craft for her maiden voyage and while we were pleased we didn't sink, we did have to call upon the help of some friendly boaters to help us get back to shore and save our butts!
We are appealing to the generosity of others to give just a little if you are excited by our project (and possible want to be picked up for a ride!?) to help us finish off our project!
We need a much bigger engine (hoping to get a 60hp or bigger outboard) and a few alterations to the craft (some sealant, a few boards, more life-jackets and make it a bit more aqua-dynamic.
we have had some great advice form local skippers and friendly passers-by and know exactly what to do, we are just overdrawn on funds.
if you are a business owner or corporation worker we would be more than happy to receive sponsorship and proudly have your advertising and name on our vessel, it sure is a head turner!
I have uploaded a video of us going upriver about 5 minutes after taking off before the engine died 10minutes later
I am involved because i wanted something fun for myself and all my friends and family to do and a great story to tell, especially for all of those who couldn't afford to get away or spend anything on activities these holidays.
