Street art & murals engage, enrich & enliven spaces & communities. Help us create more murals in Nelson for the Summer of Street Art Vol 1

Nelson / Tasman

HELP US RAISE MONEY for The SUMMER of STREET ART Vol 1!!

THE DETAILS (SO FAR):

Nelson is bubbling with creativity, energy and colour which we intend to unleash on the many sad looking blank walls in and around our beautiful city.

We are passionate about the way painted walls (street art and murals) engage communities, enrich urban landscapes and enliven spaces, towns and cities. This passion led to the creation of Summer of Street Art Vol 1 - where we take action towards creating more colour in our city over Summer 2019/2020.

TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN WE NEED MONEY TO:

#1 - Bring back Summer of Street Art event co-organiser and one of the most prolific and passionate street artist's Nelson has ever seen... J Muzacz from Austin, Texas! In J's short 8 months here in 2014/2015 he painted around 13 murals and is keen to do more!

#2 - Cover the costs of new murals painted by our local 'artists-in-waiting' (we have a list of keen local artists too...)

**The more money we can raise, the more murals we can paint and with more local artists**

WHY J MUZACZ?

J and I have been trying to get a mural festival happening in Nelson since he was here in 2015 and have been working together to make this happen, him in Texas and me on the ground in Nelson... He has been the driving force behind this whole event right from the start!

Ever since J left Nelson, people have been asking when he will be back to create more beautiful artworks... some of which you might recognise at East Street Cafe, Morri Cafe, Milton Street x3 and Nelson Roller Sports - just to name a few...

WE NEED YOUR HELP...

The more money we can raise, the more murals we can paint with local artists too - and... the more life we can bring to the bare walls of Nelson.
