Support 11 Exploited Filipino Workers Living in Shipping Containers in Takanini

Help 11 Filipino Workers Rebuild Their Lives
We’re raising funds for 11 exploited Filipino workers now living in shipping containers on a Takanini property. These individuals were left underpaid and stranded after their employer, Stone Paving & Concrete Finishing Limited, went under.
Without stable work or income, they cannot afford proper housing. A local landscaper has generously offered them shipping containers free of charge — a step up from sleeping in their cars. But this is far from the life they hoped for when they came to New Zealand.
Christian Ragis, one of the workers, says it has been “really difficult,” not just for him but for his family in the Philippines, who are worrying whether he has enough food. Among the group are fathers struggling to support young children.
Many of these workers sold land, borrowed money, and put up security against their homes to cover the $10,000 visa and relocation costs the company required. Now, they urgently need help to survive and rebuild.
Your donations will provide:
• Safe, stable housing.
• Food, basic necessities, and emergency relief.
• Assistance with immigration costs and offer relief to their families back home in the Philippines who depend on them.
Let’s come together to support these men as they fight to reclaim their dignity and future. Every donation helps. If you can’t give, please share this fundraiser to spread the word. Thank you!
