Support for Abbey in her journey to recovery at Ashburn Clinic

One of my clostest & dearest friends Abbey is currently going through a very difficult time suffering from a debilitating mental illness resulting in her being unable to work or study.

She has been waiting to see a psychologist since February and has yet to see any, due to the high demand and lack of psychologists.

Her last, and only option is to go to the only private psychiatric hospital in NZ Ashburn Clinic to receive the help she needs.

But unfortunately this comes at a hefty cost. The cost to stay at Ashburn is $3300 per week which includes accommodation, group and individual therapy sessions, as well as specialist care under a team of nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. In order for her to make the most out of the treatment, the longer she stays, the better the outcome will be.

Financially her family are able to send her there, but only for a very short time - which would not be overly beneficial in the long run.

This situation is one of many in New Zealand which highlights the huge gap in Mental Health Support which is one of New Zealand’s biggest killers.

If you could show any support, no matter how small it would mean a great deal to Abbey and her family towards getting Abbey well.
