4-month-old Layla has been diagnosed with Leukemia, with a long journey ahead. All prayers & donations are very much appreciated, thank you!
Wellington
On March 5th 2025, sweet little 4 month old Layla was sadly diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Her & her Mum (Ashleigh) were transferred from Wellington to Christchurch, where they will be for the near future as Layla starts her treatment. Unfortunately, Layla's big sister (Bailey) and Dad (Jordan) couldn't join the other half of their family in Chch in the initial days after her diagnosis and transfer, but will be flying down as soon as they can. Layla is being well cared for by a fantastic team of doctors and nurses at Chch hospital and is absolutely gaining the biggest fan club with her bright curious eyes and adorable smiles.
The treatment journey is a significant one and there is much uncertainty in what the next few months is going to hold for the family. There is a long road ahead and being away from their home in Wellington is going to present a significant challenge as Jordan will need to return to work. The aim of this GiveALittle page is to ease some of the burden of daily expenses so that Ashleigh, Jordan & Bailey can focus on supporting Layla to get well again.
Thank you for also for all the prayer support for the family; it has made the biggest difference in these early days and will continue to provide comfort and hope in the days to come.
Thank you so much.
I am Layla's aunt (Ashleigh's sister).
The funds raised for The Slaughter family will be used to cover daily expenses (mortgage, bills, etc) while extended periods of time will need to be taken off work to be able to support Layla having treatment away from home.
