Libby is a wonderful young woman who was diagnosed with Triple Negative grade 3 stage 2 Breast Cancer which has now spread to her brain.

Hey everyone -
With a heavy heart I have to tell you all Libby has been back in hospital...
She had struggled with headaches for the past two + weeks now, and after a 18 hour A&E stint she had a CT scan which showed a 23mm mass within the right cerebellar hemisphere of her brain which effects her balance and reflex’s. She had an MRI Tuesday afternoon that confirmed the mass is in fact cancer and has spread from her breast cancer.
She is having surgery to remove the mass in Wellington Hospital on Wednesday the 22nd July, she will be heading into Wellington on Tuesday to stay overnight.
Libby is currently at home spending quality time with Abel and preparing herself for this next step.
Libby is now considered “terminal” because due to the fact it has spread, there could be microscopic cells anywhere in her body. But she has got an enormous amount of fight left in her & let me tell you, she will do anything to be at her little guys side until the end of time.
Libby is feeling pretty good considering, she was given steroids to reduce the swelling which is easing the headaches a lot. She is a bit wobbly on her feet at times but otherwise good.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been at Libby’s side and helped with packing bags, keeping her company, looking after Abel and messaging her all night when she can’t sleep! It’s truly appreciated by her & our family so much to know she has such supportive & loving people in her corner 💕
I am her cousin and she is currently fighting breast cancer.

I just stumbled across a link to this page on a friends Facebook, an thought you know what I should update this for the many people that supported me friends, family & total strangers that might wonder what ever happened to me.
Since my brain tumour was removed in July 2020 there has been no new cancer! I have had regular oncology appointments and MRI scans to make sure of this!
Any worry I have I’m straight in for an MRI, I read a lot about the NZ health system failing people but I have been so lucky my oncologist and breast cancer specialist nurse have taken such good care of me and still do! I’ve never had to wait long for appointments or results everything has been quick and easy!
I don’t know if my diagnosis ever changes from “terminal” to in remission? I guess it doesn’t but I live my life as if cancer was just a blip in my journey!
Since July 2020 when my brain tumour was removed I have recovered, returned to work, got married and most recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl and little sister to my sweet boy Abel you would have read so much about during my stint with the big C.
Abel was most definitely my guiding light that got me through such a sh*t time aswell as the support from all of you!
I feel so lucky to be healthy and well and to have found happiness and been able to bring a new life into this world!
I know it’s not often you seem to get a happy ending when it comes to someone’s cancer story which is another reason why I thought it was important to share.
If you are ever diagnosed with cancer don’t let it define you, don’t let it consume you! Keep your head up and soldier on because it is a battle that can be won sometimes and mindset is everything!
Thank you all so much I will be forever grateful for your generosity and we’ll wishes!
Take care, Libby x
