The goal, with the hope of your generous support, is to provide a better schooling environment for the children of Achiase.

Achiase is a very under resourced and poor farming community in the eastern region of Ghana. My name is Jak and I am a 19 year old volunteer currently living in this town with the aim of carrying out meaningful projects to support this community. I spend much of my time teaching at the local school which has very limited resorces and facilities for the children. Children whom attend the local school often come to class with out pens or books due to costs involved in getting school supplies. This restricts children from learning and makes teaching more difficult. The school is also in need of making the learning environment a more enjoyable place for the children, to encourage more to attend. The school is really struggling to carry out the task due to a huge lack of funding.
We being New Zealanders have the luxury of attending schools that have quality buildings, nicely painted rooms, playgrounds and facilities that all add to create an enjoyable/quality learning environment. Achiase does not have these facilities. So it is my goal, with the hope of your generous support, to provide their primary school with a more equipped and resourced learning enviroment.
I am a 19 New Zealander giving my time to teach and help the community of Akim Achiase, in Ghana. It is a six month volunteering placement where my aim is to help the development of this very rural farming village. My goal is to make a positive difference to this under resourced community.
All funds will go directly into purchasing material to create a better schooling environment. I will start with the purchase of class resources for the school children then will move onto supplying the school with more engaging learning facilities.
