Help provide an Islamic Centre to the people of Marlborough

We seek to provide a purpose-built, beautiful, serene and secure building where our Muslim people can practice Islam. Such a structure would better enhance the lives of the Muslim community living in Marlborough and the many visitors of this faith that pass through seeking a place to pray.

We envision a place that would symbolise to our Muslim people: Doctors, nurses and other skilled workers; Woodbourne Base deployments; international students; RSE workers; and overseas visitors alike that they are all welcome and accepted in our wonderful region.

With the Government announcing an intention to settle new refugees in our region, and with many of these refugees known to be coming from Islamic countries, we wish to ensure that our newest community members feel accepted and welcomed when they arrive.

The Muslim Association Of Marlborough has been trying to provide a place to properly practice Islam for over five years. We hope that with the support of the wider community; using a combination of donated time, skills and funds; we can finally make this long awaited project a reality.
