Support the Barnett's as they focus on Florence's fight
Nelson / Tasman
Hi all
BJ, Kelly, Carter, Florence and Ruby moved over to Queensland in 2022 for BJ's new role with Queensland Cricket.
Unfortunately, they have been dealt a very rough hand recently, with their middle daughter Florence (Flo), who is 3, being diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus and Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), with tumours being discovered in poor Flo's head.
Flo will need to start chemotherapy and treatment in the coming weeks in Brisbane Hospital. The family is coming to terms with this news and is understandably working out what their new normal will look like. The likelihood is that they will be unable to travel home to New Zealand for the next wee while.
Whilst the timeline for the treatment is unknown, it could possibly continue for 18 to 24 months. To that end, the family need our support, especially being away from home and family support not just a few streets away.
All funds raised will be used to help with healthcare costs, travel and general costs of being a family of 5 and raising 3 beautiful children.
Florence has been such a strong, resilient, brave girl through all of this. She is somewhat blissfully unaware and continues to share her smiles, giggles, independence and determination
The Barnett's have had a profound impact on anyone who has been lucky enough to cross paths with them. They have touch points all across NZ and I am sure the family would be humbled by whatever support can be given at this time.
Thanks so much to everyone for their love and help
