The Hawke's Bay A&P Society needs financial help from the community to ensure it can survive the current pandemic crisis.
Hawke's Bay
The Hawke's Bay A&P Society is in a dire financial position due to Covid 19 and they need our support! The A&P plays a huge role in our community with the loved A&P Show along with many other events and initiatives that bring country to town and promote the primary sector.
The Society was formed over 160 years ago as a not for profit, charitable organisation striving to promote agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, viticulture and forestry resources through various channels including organized events.
Nobody wants to see the end of the A&P Show which has been running since 1863, and we need to recognise the importance of having an organisation such as the society to keep the connection between urban and rural alive. But they can't do it without our help!
The Society’s revenue earning capacity stopped as soon as the country went into Covid-19 Lockdown. All events planned for the next five months have been cancelled or postponed, with most independent facility hires cancelled through to September at this stage.
This crisis will affect the revenue generation opportunities by at least approximately $500,000 and there is a serious probability of us not being able to host events on site for the next six, perhaps twelve months.
For the next six months period, the average monthly overhead costs for the Society is expected to be around $33,000 per month. This amount includes immediate cost savings that have been able to be put in place.
If you love coming to the A&P Show each year, or can understand the importance of having an organisation such as the society in our community, PLEASE donate towards this cause so that we can ensure that the A&P will survive post Covid-19. Every little bit counts.
The Hawke's Bay A&P Society aims to connect, promote and inspire the community of Hawke's Bay with the primary sector. The society plays a huge role in the history of Hawke's Bay with the A&P Show dated back to 1863.
All funds raised will go towards the overhead costs of keeping the society alive during the Covid-19 crisis and recovery with the likelihood of no revenue generation being possible for another 4-6 months.
