Please help the van der Maas brothers get to Israel!!
International
Earlier this year Max and Blake were selected to trial for the NZ Men’s Lacrosse team going to Israel for the FIL Lacrosse World Championship in July 2018. After a grueling 11 days of trials the team was announced.
Max was selected for the team and named as one of the captains. Blake narrowly missed out but was asked to continue training with the team as a reserve.
Fortunately in the last couple of weeks Blake has officially been offered a position in the team as one of the goalies! Both boys are very excited to travel to Israel and represent their country together, and are in full training mode!
As Lacrosse is a niche sport in NZ, players receive no funding from Sport New Zealand. Thus both Blake and Max are self-funding their trip, with costs estimated at $8000 per player! This is undoubtedly a huge financial strain, especially for Blake who is not yet in full time work as he is completing his Post-Graduate Diploma.
Both boys are working extra jobs and saving as much as they can to pay for their trip, but any help in this area -no matter how small would be greatly appreciated!
Please help the van der Maas brothers get to Israel!!
